You will remember that we messaged you at the beginning of May telling you that we hoped to raise at least £500 and REALLY WANTED to raise £1000 for this fabulous cause?
Well, thanks to the generosity of Shoreham Conservative Club, Pembrokes’ own staff and our clients such as Amanda Lake, Mrs Jo Andrews, Malcolm Bonner, Dave and Christine Jones, Mrs Elsie Woolgar, Win and Pat Clevett, John Coles as well as James Keeffe, our fantastic designer, and the team at LGT Vestra we have smashed that target and would love to set ourselves a new goal of £2,030.
Why this figure?
£2030 will pay for 14 days of hospice care at home for a local person. Now that really would be an achievement so please help us toward this target by sponsoring our team of Pembroke Plodders for the ‘Night to Remember Midnight Walk’ in Worthing, Saturday the 30th June, starting at 10:30pm
The ‘Night to Remember’ is in its 11th year and is a midnight walk along Worthing’s streets and seafront and our team will walk either the 7, 13.1 (half marathon), or 20 mile route dependant on capabilities, blisters and creaking hip joints! The route will take us around the track at Worthing Leisure Centre, through the streets of Worthing and down to Worthing promenade.
Over the past 10 years, almost 10,000 people have walked the streets and seafront of Worthing and have raised over £1,400,000 for St Barnabas House – an incredible amount!
So let’s do our bit and add to that this year!
We would love to have your support.
Please sponsor us for as much as you can spare – literally any sum will help us toward the target so please never think that those few pounds that you have spare won’t make a difference – they will.
Hospice at Home.
The Night to Remember raises funds for St Barnabas Hospice at Home service, which was launched in 2012. The service provides hospice care for patients in their own homes. In 2014 St Barnabas launched the Hospice at Home night service, which allows their team to be there throughout the night, often the most difficult time for patients and their families.
The aim of the walk is that by joining together to walk in the midnight walk, we can face the night united and show our support to hundreds of local people and families facing life-limiting illness. This service makes a really big difference to the care experience of local people with over 300 patients and their families being cared for every year. The demand for this service within the local community is growing and with your help we can increase our service and reach more local people.
St Barnabas say “ We hope that this year’s Night to Remember will see over 1000 supporters walking through the night, raising the funds we need to give care to patients through the night in their own homes.”
You can help the Plodders raise money for this great cause by donating directly to our fundraising page.
JustGiving sends your donation straight to St Barnabas House and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.
Thank you so much for your support! We will let you know how we get on.
