You may have read in the press about a recent Okta breach in the U.S, so I want to reassure you this has not affected you.
Okta is an identity and access management authentication company whose technology is used by thousands of organisations around the world to access applications and data securely. Standard Life/ABRDN use Okta as a security mechanism, and they have confirmed that the Okta breach did not affect any of their clients accounts. The breach happened in January 2022 and only affected a small percentage of their U.S customer, there was no impact on any UK or European based services.
The Chief Security Officer at Okta, David Bradbury has reiterated that “the Okta service is fully operational, and there are no corrective actions our customers need to take”.
