Retirement planning UK

Planning for retirement.

Not the date you stop. The life you start.

Most people spend more time planning a kitchen extension than planning the next 20 years of their life.

The questions arrive all at once.

Retirement feels far away until it doesn't. Then the questions arrive at once.

Can I afford to stop?
What do I do with my pension pots?
How do I turn savings into an income that lasts?
What happens when I'm gone?

The people who retire well made decisions ten or fifteen years before they needed to. They knew their number, their options, and had a plan someone kept current.

Do you know yours? Our pension calculator gives you a starting figure in a few minutes.

Planning for retirement

Where are you right now?

Retirement looks different for everyone. The right plan starts with where you actually are.

The question isn't whether you should plan for retirement. It's where to start. Most people are somewhere in one of three places.

I'm not sure I'm on track.

Most people aren't. We'll look at the full picture and tell you honestly where you stand.

I'm thinking about retiring soon.

Within five years of stopping, every decision you make now shapes what follows. We'll give you specific answers, not generic ones.

I think I'm asset rich but cash poor.

Property values here have tripled. Many people retire owning a valuable home but live on a modest income. There are options. We'll tell you which ones work.

The numbers worth knowing.

The average single pensioner receives £282 a week, according to the Department for Work and Pensions.

£870 a week for a comfortable retirement (Loughborough, 2025). Fewer than one in ten are on track (Pensions UK).

These figures exclude housing costs. For anyone still renting in retirement, the gap is wider still.

From April 2027, most unused pension funds will fall within your estate for inheritance tax purposes. The rules are changing. How you structure things now will matter. The window to act is open. It won't stay that way.

Your retirement is a set of numbers before it's a plan. Our pension calculator shows you where you stand in a few minutes.

We are recognised Pension Transfer Specialists.

It’s important when situations are complex: defined benefit transfers, pension sharing orders on divorce, complicated tax positions.

Most of what we do is simpler. We look at the full picture, tell you where you stand, and build a plan around the retirement you want.

Then we keep it current. Life moves, your plan should too.

Sussex, Surrey and Kent since 1993. The questions are familiar. The answers are specific to you.

You know what living well looks like.

We'll show you the numbers to get there.

Living well

The moment you know you can stop.

Not a rough idea. A number, with a plan behind it. The point at which work becomes optional rather than mandatory and you know exactly what that looks like financially.

The retirement that funds the life.

Not just enough to cover the bills. Enough to do what you actually want. The holidays. The grandchildren. The things you've been putting off.

The inheritance that doesn't become a burden.

Your money going where you want it to go, in the most tax-efficient way possible. Without your family navigating a mess when you're gone.
