23 years, 11 months and 7 days after he started his journey on the “good ship Pembroke” as he calls it, he’s decided to disembark for a change of scenery.
Keith Stevens, our joint Client Support Manager, has logged off from his computer for the last time at Pembroke and headed off to the railway station for the last of his daily journeys back to Worthing.
We will miss him hugely and wish him well in whatever life brings over the coming years – whether that be travel, watching his beloved cricket in far flung places, visiting family or just chillin’.
He always said he would know when his work was done here and he has helped create a great team to hand over to… and now is his time.
Even on his last day here he was in at 7am but we managed to tear him away from his desk for a few hours in the afternoon for a few glasses of fizz and a couple of sausage rolls (we really pushed the boat out!) and a convivial chat with colleagues, who have become friends – here are a few photos of the afternoon.
Without wishing to seem sycophantic, Keith was the rock on which Pembroke was built – without good administration and client support any ‘sales’ organisation cannot function.
Keith provided all of that singlehandedly in the early days and then as the Company grew (and we are now one of the largest IFA practices in the county), he built a team which included our current Client Support Manager, Cindy Maloney, to support the Independent Financial Advisers who joined us. Indeed, a major attraction of Pembroke to any potential new IFA was the superb support team which Keith had put together.
As with all businesses, we’ve had some difficult times, but Keith was a steady influence throughout. He can be rightly proud of his work here and I am proud to call him a friend.
